my stuff

things i like and other things
Where’s my stuff from Amazon? That’s what I want to know. *** I have been in a shitty mood recently, but I feel like things are getting better. Even though I have the cold and was a bit panicked that I was going to swallow that dangly thing at the back of my throat in my sleep, I am convinced that things are on the up. Funnily enough, this seems to have coincided with the weather getting slightly-better-but-not-much. I had to put the heating on last night for a bit. Where is the heatwave my friend talked about? WHERE?!?!?!?! 2 overly opinionated film reviews I went to see chaz and the choccie factory on Friday night with Bandito. I was amazed that he agreed to come with me because things like that are generally not his kind of thing but seeing as I went to see this pile of cack with him when it came out, I had one in the bank. Now this kind of film isn’t usually my kind of film either but there are 2 important things to remember here. Tim Burton (tick) and Johnny Depp (very big tick, gold star and a ‘see me after school’). I liked it. I liked all the tim burton tricks and I thought the gorgeous one was excellent in an un-nerving, creepy and bizarre way. He is not gorgeous in any way in this film. I thought the oompas were a bit weak, and Bandito is correct when he says that the oompaloompa’s tunes aren’t as effective as the first film. Anyway all in all, a very good film in my opinion, although it is exactly what it is supposed to be which is a strange story about a strange man and a very ordinary boy. No more, no less. And it is definitely NOT a little kids film, no matter how much chocolate there is. On Monday night we watched this pile of shite and I can’t for the life of me figure out why I got it out. I read the book and thought it was boring, so why did I think the film would be any better? I’m not going to get those 2 hours of my life back, I understand that, so there’s no point in being bitter about it but if I can stop just 1 person from wasting 2 hours of their own lives by watching it then I have done my duty. I want to like smamfa morton, really I do but she’s not making it very easy by being in films like this. Or this A completely stolen idea because… From Jenny’s diary today Make a list of 100 things you like in no particular order. Avoid the obvious (significant other, cake...) and be completely honest with yourself. If you try to think of things that you are curious about and inspired by, you'll end up discovering a lot about yourself and in doing so developing a sort of bank of your interests and ideas. 1. this idea of writing a list of ‘100 things I like’ 2. watching people singing in their cars 3. the way sunshine makes people happy 4. seeing skate type dads with their skate type sons 5. waving 6. bloody mary’s 7. writing in pencil 8. chubby little girls 9. hailing black cabs 10. unpacking boxes 11. sending cards 12. mature cheddar on digestive biscuits 13. coffee in bed 14. hearing someone play guitar as I walk past their window 15. my new sunglasses 16. watching Spanish people talk 17. waking up on a Saturday thinking it’s Tuesday 18. remembering when I first met Bandito 19. planning holidays 20. that particular box of strawberries in my fridge (so sweet) 21. girls with bigger bums than me 22. pot noodles 23. It really does feel nice to spend so much time thinking about things you like. P.S If you do decide to do this list (and if nobody does then I shall just have to tag some people), please leave me a note and tell me about it because I've discovered that another thing I like is reading 100 things that other people like. Thanks!
